2023 GRANTS
This handicapped accessible garden box is just one way that MSS fulfills their mission of supporting people with disabilities as vital and contributing members of our community. SCF is please to have provided a grant to MSS in 2022.
SHOREVIEW COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Last year we were excited to have two grants cycles, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. We hope this will better meet the needs of organizations who do not have fiscal years that align with the calendar year.
We are pleased to have selected the following organizations for the 2023 Spring Grants Cycle.
Ebenezer Society Foundation: Lifelong learning program at Applewood Pointe through music and social activities
Gallery 96: Plein Air painting and photography sessions in Shoreview Parks
Midwest Special Services: Virtual Reality headsets/equipment for disabled adults to allow them to explore the world and experience what it is like to move their arms, walk, or run.
Shoreview YMCA: Summer camp scholarships for kids
Slice of Shoreview: Theatrical production of Madagascar at the Slice of Shoreview
Tubman: Provide legal services to Shoreview residents
We are pleased to have selected the following organizations for the 2023 Fall Grants Cycle.
• A grant was awarded to The Lakeshore Players Theatre who will hold a two-week Under Construction theater summer camp in June 2024 at Chippewa Middle School, culminating in three public performances. By collaborating with a teaching artist, students will achieve confidence, public speaking, and creative expression skills.
• The Shoreview Parks and Recreation Department was awarded funds to continue and grow in-person caregiver support with two programs: a free, monthly dementia caregiver support group with respite care, and a six-week program conducted by The Normandale Center for Healing called Powerful Tools for Caregivers.
• Funds were granted to The Shoreview/Arden Hills Lions Club to support their goal of creating welcome gift baskets for newcomers to the community to let them know about the many civic and public organizations available to our residents.
We are thrilled to add to the boar Ellen Guo, Mounds View High School senior!
